Organization and operation of Binh Duong Bar Association
Binh Duong Bar Association (before 1997 was Song Be province) was established in 1992 with 04 lawyers led by lawyer Nguyen Van Hoat. In 1995, the two-member board of directors, including Lawyer Le Van Duoc (Chairman) and lawyer Nguyen Hiep Phung (deputy chairman) was elected by the lawyers' conference.
In 1997, Song Be province was divided into Binh Duong province and Binh Phuoc province, according to the Decision No.231/QD-UB dated January 24, 1997, of the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province, Song Be Bar Association officially changed its name to Binh Duong Bar Association. At this time, the Binh Duong Bar Association has only eight lawyers, including 06 lawyers and 02 probationary lawyers.
In 1999, the lawyers' conference voted the two-member board of directors, including Lawyer Nguyen Hien Phung (chairman) and lawyer Hoang Thi Ngoc Thuy (deputy chairman). From 2002 to 2006, Binh Duong Bar Association was organized and operated under the 2001 Ordinance on Lawyers, which was marked at the beginning of the 2002-2005 Lawyers Conference. At the time of 2002, the number of lawyers of the Binh Duong Bar Association was 18 lawyers.
During the period from 2006 to 2010, the Binh Duong Bar Association was organized and operated under the 2006 Law on Lawyers. At the 2006-2009 Lawyers' Conference, the elected board of directors consisted of three lawyers, including lawyer Nguyen Hiep Phung (chairman), lawyer Nguyen Van Hien Phuc (Becamex Law Firm) (deputy chairman) and Lawyer Doan Van No (deputy chairman). At the time of 2006, the number of lawyers of Binh Duong Bar Association was 23 practicing lawyers and 13 probationary lawyers.
In 2010, the lawyers's conference for the tenure of 2010-2014 was held and elected the new board of four members, namely lawyer Nguyen Van Hien Phuc, (Becamex Law Firm) (Chairman), Lawyer Nguyen Van Tuan (deputy chairman), lawyer Thai Thanh Hai (deputy chairman) and lawyer Nguyen Thi Diem Huong (deputy chairman). At the time of 2010, the number of lawyers of Binh Duong Bar Association was 41 practicing lawyers and 17 probationary lawyers.
Since the 2010 lawyers' conference, the number of lawyers in the Binh Duong Bar Association has increased from 41 lawyers to 60 lawyers, representing a 50% increase in the number of lawyers of the Binh Duong Bar Association. The probationary lawyers also increased from 17 to 34. The organizational structure of the Binh Duong Bar Association is closer, the internal board of management and the members of the Binh Duong Bar Association to perform the functions and tasks of the association. On June 14, 2011, the Binh Duong Bar Association Party Body was established by Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee under the Decision No. 60/QD-DUK, marking the political maturity of the lawyers. Especially, at the end of 2011, in early 2012, Binh Duong Bar Association has completed the plan of "Lawyers Development Project to 2020 in Binh Duong Province" and "Charter of Binh Duong Bar Association", approved by People's Committee of Binh Duong Province. These are important legal foundations to consolidate the organization and build the Binh Duong Bar Association to be a strong bar association in the region.
